Boston, MA According to CBRE/New England, the firm took home eight Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) awards, which were presented at the annual 2016 BOMA Boston’s The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) and Industry Awards Ceremony held on November 15, and hosted by the Boston Federal Reserve’s Mike Gill, president of BOMA Boston.

CBRE/NE was honored with five TOBY awards for individual properties under the firm’s management; honors included 10 St. James Ave., a Liberty Mutual asset, for the 500,000-1 million s/f category; ONE Marina Park Dr., a Fallon Co. and Barings Real Estate Advisers asset located in the Seaport District, for the 250,000-499,000 s/f category; 501 Boylston St., a TH Real Estate asset located in the Back Bay, for the Historical Building category; 177 Huntington Ave., a Beacon Capital Partners asset located in the Back Bay, for the Renovated Building category; and 350 Washington St., an Invesco Real Estate asset located in Downtown Crossing, for the Retail category.

Three of CBRE/NE’s property managers were recognized as “Property Manager of the Year” in their respective building divisions. Jennifer Twombly, senior property manager at 100 High St., received the award in the High-Rise category. Amy Forman, senior property manager at 501 Boylston St., received the award in the Mid-Rise category. Maureen Ayers, senior property manager at 88 Black Falcon Ave.,  received the award in the Low-Rise category.

The following properties were also recognized for achieving the “BOMA Boston 360 Performance Building” designation: 10 St. James Avenue, 75 Arlington Street, 179 Lincoln Street (Boston); Concord Road Corporate Center (Billerica); and Tower Square (Springfield). The following property managers were recognized for obtaining their “Real Property Administrator” (RPA) designation: Shawn Carroll (ONE Marina Park Drive, Boston) and Cynthia Taylor (Concord Road Corporate Center, Billerica).

Close to 550 real estate professionals attended the event, including property management teams, owners and companies who provide services to the industry. Buildings that won local TOBY awards will move onto the Middle-Atlantic Conference (MAC) regional competition, which will be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania in April 2017. Winners from the MAC will move onto the international competition at the 2017 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee in June 2017. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the awards.
