CCIM president's message: Changes in course experiences

The CCIM Institute is undertaking changes that will impact your course experiences if you're thinking about obtaining the CCIM Designation or are a CCIM Candidate. They intend to eliminate the 5 day onsite course in 2012 and will replace it with an online and hybrid delivery of the course. The hybrid delivery will consist of 2-3 online sessions followed by a 2.5 day onsite learning experience. If you learn best, live and in person, consider taking as many of your core courses in 2011 while the offerings are ensured to be available. You'll have the opportunity to focus your time and energy toward learning in the classroom and will create lasting personal and professional relationships with your fellow students. If online learning is for you, you may start taking all of the core courses via web delivery today. You benefit by taking the class remotely, save on travel expenses, and work through the material at your own pace. If you choose this path and decide you are missing some of the interpersonal connections that you rely on to enhance your learning, please contact me (Jeremy@Mansardcre.com) and I will arrange for a CCIM mentor to work with you through the process. By the way, if you're interested in being featured in our New England CCIM Member Spotlight so that other CCIMs throughout New England know who you are, what you do, and how to find you, please contact our administrative director, Heather Campbell. You may reach her by email at admin@neccim.com. Jeremy Cyrier, CCIM, 2011 president of the New England CCIM Chapter and founder and principal of Mansard Commercial Properties, Lexoington, Mass.
