C.E. Floyd celebrates topping off milestones at two school projects

Dedham, MA C.E. Floyd Company celebrated topping off ceremonies, marking major construction milestones at Dedham Country Day School and Lawrence Academy.

At Dedham Country Day School, C.E. Floyd is partnering with Eck MacNeely Architects to construct a new theater that will serve as the home of the school’s performing arts program. Designed as both a performance venue and a gathering space, the new theater will provide students and faculty with a dedicated space for assemblies, productions, and community events.

The ceremony was timed to coincide with lower school recess, allowing students to witness the milestone firsthand. As the final beam – signed by members of the school community – was lifted into place, students cheered and chanted “DCD, DCD, DCD,” celebrating the project’s progress.

In Groton Mass., C.E. Floyd is working with Flansburgh Architects on Lawrence Academy’s Community Commons project. This renovation and addition reimagines the campus core by bringing together the dining hall and student center into a unified hub for student life. The project enhances campus connectivity while taking full advantage of the site’s picturesque views.

“These projects reflect the important role that thoughtfully designed spaces play in strengthening school communities,” said Chris Floyd, president and CEO at C.E. Floyd Co. “We’re proud to partner with Dedham Country Day and Lawrence Academy to create environments that support connection, creativity, and student experience.”
