Charter Realty & Development named retail leasing broker for Storrs Center

According to LeylandAlliance, master developer for Storrs Center, Charter Realty & Development Corp. has been named the exclusive retail leasing broker for Storrs Center. Storrs Center is a $220 million, mixed-use town center and main street project at the crossroads of the town of Mansfield and the University of Connecticut's main campus on Storrs Rd./Rte. 195. It is one of the most ambitious public-private partnerships in the state and is being developed in cooperation with LeylandAlliance, the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Inc., and Education Realty Trust. Charter Realty will handle all retail leasing and provide development consulting for the main street commercial area, including shops, restaurants, entertainment uses, and services. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2011. The master plan for Storrs Center includes 165,000 s/f of retail space, 26,500 s/f of office space, and 690 residential units, including rental apartments, town homes and condominium apartments. Ground floor retail and commercial uses will open onto landscaped sidewalks, green spaces, and intimate streets.

Goldberg of Spire Investments purchases Beverly portfolio for $9.2m

Beverly, MA Jay Goldberg, president and owner of Spire Investments has completed the purchase of four multifamily buildings. The 33-unit purchase amounted to a sale price of $9.2 million or $278,788 per unit. The properties are all located in downtown and consist of one- and two-bedroom units.
