Boston, MA Stephen Whalen, managing partner at City Realty Group (CRG) spoke to youth and supporters at the annual BASE Ball event hosted by The BASE. Whalen, a longtime supporter of this Roxbury-based nonprofit, delivered a talk from the heart about the importance of reimagining partnerships and workforce development, and his passion for providing career opportunities for young people in Boston’s neighborhoods. City Realty Group is a strong supporter of The BASE and has hired many BASE student-athletes as interns who have gone on to earn jobs within the company and in Boston’s thriving real estate industry overall. CRG has also paid for The BASE youth to obtain real estate licenses.
Whalen was joined by BASE alumnus and City Realty Group success story Cristian Colon-Lorenzo, who learned the real estate industry while interning at the firm and is now a thriving real estate professional in Boston. The annual BASE Ball 2021 was held as a virtual event with the theme, The BASE REIMAGINED. The focus was to challenge the organization and its supporters to reimagine access and opportunities for urban youth and to change mindsets about what it takes for urban youth to succeed.
“When you come to The BASE, you experience the love of family, and you really see true support at The BASE through good times and bad times. We love supporting The BASE and we want to always spread their message and get other supporters and companies to provide these great young people with jobs and future pathways to success,” Whalen said during his remarks to the audience. City Realty Group is a community-focused real estate development company serving the Greater Boston area since 2004.
