Cobb Hill Construction, Inc. has been contracted for a major renovation of the Endicott Hotel, the 1890s-era building at the corner of South Main St. and Pleasant St. Extension.
The Endicott Hotel was purchased by Concord Area Trust for Community Housing (CATCH) in 1994. Now known as CATCH Neighborhood Housing, the organization works to preserve and create affordable housing for the Concord community. Cobb Hill will work closely with CATCH in this project to bring market-rate apartments into the downtown area. The 36 apartments on the second, third, and fourth floors of the historic Endicott building are set to become 25 one, two, and three-bedroom units. The two vacant retail spaces on the ground floor will also be renovated and remain as retail spaces.
In addition to these planned renovations, the property was recently damaged by a fire that began in the Green Martini restaurant, located on the ground floor of the building. As a result, the project has changed to include repairs from the fire as well as the intended project with completion planned for the spring-summer of 2013.
"Cobb Hill is proud to be working with an important organization such as CATCH to renovate this historic building and bring homes and opportunities to the Concord community," said Jerry Kingwill, president of Cobb Hill Construction. "After the fire, our work and partnership with CATCH become even more significant and we look forward to our role in restoring life to the beautiful Endicott Hotel."
