Columbia Construction completes Basic Industries Lab at Wentworth Institute of Technology
Columbia Construction celebrated the grand opening of the Basic Industries Lab at Wentworth Institute of Technology on Nov. 3. Part of the manufacturing center located in Williston Hall, the basic industries lab is utilized by the Dept. of Engineering & Technology.
Work included the partial demolition of existing space and 7,000 s/f in renovations. Special features included the creation of distinct areas for computers with internet access, equipped with new lighting, new windows, new access flooring, upgraded electrical service and distribution fire suppression, fire alarm systems, new HVAC and controls systems, and ADA compliance upgrades. System connections were also provided to electronic CNC stations, welding stations, and equipment for cutting, grinding, and metal work.
