Connolly Brothers completes renovation and addition for The Lodge at Endicott College

Beverly, MA Connolly Brothers Inc. completed a 3,947 s/f renovation and 507 s/f addition for The Lodge at Endicott College. The Lodge is one of Endicott College’s on-campus dining venues, offering students a casual, relaxed, retail-style dining option and lounge. The project scope involved demolition of the existing kitchen, dining and lounge areas to accommodate a new, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, serving line and two restrooms. Upgrades were made to the dining, lounge and mezzanine areas including installation of a new HVAC system.

Connolly Brothers also constructed a 507-s/f addition to The Lodge, housing a dedicated dish room, walk-in freezer and walk-in cooler. The addition supports the upgraded kitchen operations and provides additional storage capacity for food.

“At Endicott, we’re always looking for ways to make the everyday student experience better,” said Rick Gagnon, associate vice president of facilities operations. “The Lodge is a place where students can grab a meal, connect with friends, and take a break between classes, and this renovation gives them a modern, comfortable, and welcoming space to do just that.”

During construction, the Connolly Brothers team navigated tight site logistics including having to reroute the building’s existing sewer line. The project was completed on a compressed “summer slammer” schedule.

Connolly Brothers served as construction manager and Derck & Edson, LLC served as the architect of record. The project team also included BLM&C Electrical; Carlino Building Associates; JDB Engineering; J.J. Sullivan Plumbing and Heating Contractors; Meninno Construction; Meridian Associates; Stahl Sheaffer Engineering; and Xcel Fire Protection.
