CoreNet NE President’s Message: Professional development opportunities and fall events

CoreNet Global New England Young Leaders End of Summer Soiree September 20th

In our CoreNet Global New England chapter, we are well on our way to a successful fall season, with plenty of networking and professional development opportunities, starting with the Young Leaders End of Summer Soiree sponsored by Allsteel and Union Office Interiors held on September 20th, where we toasted to a successful summer and enjoyed an evening of getting to know each other across industries and career levels with our CoreNet New England Connections Contest.

CoreNet Global NE Leadership 2.0 Professional Development Class of 22-23

Recently, we kicked off our Leadership 2.0 Professional Development Program, with executive coach Vonda Mills leading the class through their Caliper strengths and personality assessment followed by a practical seminar where the participants identified their areas of opportunities and created accountability within the Leadership 2.0 peer group. We look forward to watching how these leaders grow personally and professionally in this seven-month program.

The CoreNet Global New England Chapter Golf Committee held their 21st Annual Golf Tournament on October 6, 2022 at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth. The tournament is held annually to bring together our members for a day of golf, networking, and fundraising efforts for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston. This year the tournament sponsor was CBRE. To all our incredible sponsors that supported this year’s tournament, your support is truly appreciated. All 56 foursomes and the 20 participants in the Golf Clinic enjoyed a great day and we thank everyone for their support and participation in a great event. We are excited to be back at Pinehills next year for our 22nd Tournament and look forward to announcing the 2023 date soon!

We’re not stopping there - building upon the momentum sparked during the pandemic, the CoreNet New England Chapter continues to bolster its integration of the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) committee into all chapter activities and collaboration with other local organizations in Greater Boston to further drive membership engagement and expand our DEI mission. Upcoming activities this year include a webinar on inclusive design in partnership with CoreNet Global Connecticut/Westchester chapter on October 27th, followed by a workshop with Dr. Dwinita Mosby Tyler for the Leadership 2.0 professional development program class -- both of which will drive knowledge sharing and robust discussions on diversity and inclusion in corporate real estate. Visit the chapter website for details and registration.

In the Spring of 2023, we will recognize and celebrate both individuals and organizations for outstanding leadership and we will highlight projects in the Corporate Real Estate industry for their accomplishments made in 2022 at our annual Awards of Excellence.

Award submissions opened the week of Monday, October 3rd and will close on Friday, November 4th, 2022 at 6pm EST. Winners will be announced early January 2023 and will be celebrated at our annual Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2023 at the Westin Seaport, Boston. Visit the website for more details on the award categories and the nomination process!

We are proud of all that our New England chapter has accomplished and the ways in which we are collaborating through our communities and within CoreNet Global. Please be sure to check our member benefits page and reach out to Karyn Houde, our executive director to learn more about membership and sponsorship by emailing newengland@corenetglobalne.org.
