This month marks the start of our new ?scal year, and the second year of my presidency in my two-year term.
Our Annual Meeting of the Membership was held on March 22 at The Foundation and we had a tremendous turnout! Thank you to the more than 120 members who joined us as we reviewed our accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2022-2023, and looked ahead to the new Fiscal Year 2023-2024 beginning April 1, and celebrated the graduates of the 2022-2023 Leadership 2.0 Professional Development Program. I was thrilled to welcome our new Board members joining the slate of leaders who will help guide our chapter in our strategic initiatives, in attracting new members and corporate partners, in increasing member engagement and supporting succession planning. Congratulations to Laurie Boehl with PES Associates, Sandra Gucciardi with C&W Services, Kristin Enright with Thermo Fisher Scienti?c, John Moran with Google and Ken Papetti with Iron Mountain.
With a season of change comes heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing Board members - Mark Watkins with Thermo Fisher Scienti?c, Brigitte Beltran with Space Matrix, Kirstin Brown with Northstar Project & Real Estate Services, and Rick Cleveland with C&W Services. I am grateful for their leadership and passion for our chapter. We look forward to the next stage and future contributions to our great community.
Membership and Sponsorship
The engagement of our chapter is immensely important, and we can’t accomplish all we set out to do without the support of the approximately 150 volunteers and committee members. Our chapter consists of 13 committees, two development programs and three Strategic Initiatives - if you are a member of our chapter, learn more about our committees and get involved today! If you are not a member and are interested in learning more, please reach out to connect and learn more about the complimentary 30-day membership trial so you can see what CoreNet Global New England can offer to you, both professionally and personally!
We also owe so much of the success of our chapter to our corporate partners and chapter sponsors. Thank you to the 19 Corporate Partners, 9 Founders Circle Platinum Sponsors, 23 Founders Circle Gold Sponsors, and three Founders Circle Silver Sponsors who supported the chapter during the 2022-2023 ?scal year, we are appreciative of your support. If you are interested in sponsoring our chapter in 2023, and for any membership or sponsorship-related questions, please reach out to Karyn Houde, our executive director.
Awards of Excellence
On April 27th, I look forward to celebrating all that we’ve accomplished over the past year, along with the celebration of our chapter’s Leadership and Project Award Winners at the Annual Awards of Excellence Gala at the Westin Seaport. While sponsorships are sold out, table sales and single tickets are available to reserve. Please check our website for these details and contact [email protected] if you have any questions about the awards event.
Doing Well by Doing Good
As we enter the second year of my presidency, I continue to promote the importance of “Doing Well by Doing Good” throughout all that we do. The New England Chapter of CoreNet Global is committed to advancing the work of corporate real estate professionals as they strive to fully support, improve and enhance their company business goals and objectives, all by “Doing Well by Doing Good.” Over the past year the chapter has supported 26 professional development program participants, donated more than $24,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, and remains a CREST partner at the Champion level in pairing students with paid jobs and skills training as well as facilitating 30 mentorship connections. Not to mention the addition of over 130 new young leaders and student members, and producing over 75 events, always looking through the lens of diversity, equity & inclusion, sustainability, and innovation.
After six months of professional and personal enrichment, the 2022-2023 Leadership 2.0 Cohort has concluded. The group of 15 graduates concluded their program with ?nal case study presentations under the topic of “Leading through Crisis or Transformation”, where each group highlighted a leader or group of leaders who led their organization through a time of major change. They graduated at the 2023 Annual Meeting on March 22nd. Congratulations to the cohort and please look out for applications opening up for the next class in June 2023.
We have many exciting events and programs already scheduled for this year, and many more to come! For example, the Young Leaders Committee is hosting an ACCESS Lunch (Aspire.Connect.Collaborate.Educate.Share.Socialize) for any CRE Young Professionals with Stephen Elias, board member and SVP strategy, leasing, & execution at Citizens on April 18th - space is limited, reserve your spot today!
