CoreNet Global New England president’s message: Expanding the CoreNet Global mission of Connect. Learn. Grow. Belong.

Check presented to the Boys & Girls Club of Boston at the CoreNet Global
New England 2023 Awards of Excellence Gala, April 27, 2023.

On behalf of the executive committee, advisory council and board of directors of the New England Chapter of CoreNet Global, I would like to take a moment to appreciate the resiliency and creativity of our chapter. By adding a fifth pillar of ‘Giving Back’ to CoreNet Global’s values - Connect. Learn. Grow. Belong - our commitment to the CoreNet Global mission expands with a focus on Doing Well by Doing Good. At the Awards of Excellence Gala on April 27, we presented a $25,000 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and we look forward to continued partnership with their clubs in the region throughout the year. If you missed the Awards of Excellence Gala, check out the event photos on our website!

This week, the New England Chapter will participate in the Eastern Regional Symposium, as one of the six host chapters of CoreNet Global in the northeast region, held from June 5-6 at George Washington University in D.C. This year’s theme is Global Interdependency, to focus on current real estate trends, best practices and strategies with educational speaker sessions by renowned leaders in their field and dynamic programming that includes tours at D.C. Renaissance, Capital One HQ Campus, and National Landing. We are especially looking forward to connecting with other CoreNet Global regional chapters at the intimate networking lunch. I am proud to announce that our chapter, in support of Doing Well by Doing Good, has sponsored one of our enthusiastic student members to attend the conference. We look forward to sharing Suffolk University global business and management double major Makella Houdagba’s experience on our social media channels later this week! Hope to see you there! More details can be found on the ERS website.

With many of our students graduating, we’re excited to see where their careers take them, and with our CREST (Commercial Real Estate Success Training) partnership, we’re thrilled to be kicking off the summer season with 30 mentorships between students and corporate real estate executives. We’ll be hosting a CREST Mentorship Meet & Greet on Thursday, June 15th at the Winthrop Center and the CREST internships with CoreNet Global New England partner firms will begin on June 5th

We hope you will join us at some outstanding events and virtual programs: On July 13th, we will gather for our annual rooftop Summer Soiree hosted by the Career Strategies + Development Committee at Margulies Perruzzi Architects from 5:30-7:30pm. Following this, on July 19th from 5-8pm, we’ll get inspired by a campus-wide tour at Beacon Capital’s Southline featuring multiple tenants’ perspectives in the same space where history continues to be made. Learn more and register on our website. Don’t forget to sign up for our weekly newsletters and stay tuned for when our Annual Charitable Golf Tournament sponsorships open this month!

I am often asked, “What is the real advantage of a CoreNet Global membership?” Getting involved with CoreNet Global means access to high quality networking opportunities. The New England Chapter hosts monthly Real Advantage dinners, where sponsors can connect with industry end users and service providers in an intimate dinner setting, with impactful conversations led by industry thought leaders. One of our corporate partners, Chris Horblit from TJX says it best, “As a CoreNet real advantage partner, our real estate and services teams have access to the latest information, trends and landscape in corporate real estate. With regular access to some of the best and brightest in our field, through both formal and informal networking programs, the Real Advantage Program continues to be of great value to me personally, to our company and our workplace services team.”

Please check out our sponsorship and member benefits page to discover all the value CoreNet Global New England can offer, and for any membership or sponsorship-related questions, please reach out to Karyn Houde, our executive director.

Maureen Rystrom is the president/chair of CoreNet Global New England Chapter and vice president of marketing | partner at J. Calnan & Associates.
