CREW-CT to host breakfast program February 2 at The Society Room of Hartford

Hartford, CT CREW-CT, an organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the achievements of women in commercial real estate will host a breakfast program on February 2, a panel discussion on the development, design, and affordability implications of assisted living and memory care facilities. Members and the public are invited to attend the program, which will be held at The Society Room of Hartford with networking and breakfast starting at 7:30 a.m. with program ending at 9 a.m.

Expert panelists are Timothy Hollister, attorney and partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP and Ann Melite, interior designer and gerontologist of Melite Design. Jenna Bennetti, CPA and manager at Whittlesey & Hadley, P.C., will serve as moderator.

This discussion about real estate development implications for this expanding market will address, among other areas:

•Why is the market for assisted living and memory care facilities booming?

• How do we define assisted living? How does it differ from other types of senior housing?

• What are/will be the housing needs/direction of the expanding aging population?

• What are the design considerations for an assisted living facility?

• Can assisted living/memory care facilities be developed under Connecticut’s affordable housing statute?
