CTA Construction celebrates completion of new Mountview Middle School in Holden, MA

Holden, MA The town of Holden and CTA Construction celebrated the completion of the new Mountview Middle School during a dedication ceremony on October 15.

“This dedication marks a major milestone for the Town of Holden, Mountview Building Committee and the Massachusetts School Building Authority after nearly two years of work to build this state-of-the-art middle school,” said Lyle Coghlin, project executive at CTA Construction. “CTA was pleased to work alongside our partners in Holden on its largest building project in the Town’s history that will benefit students, faculty and families in the community for decades to come.”

The new middle school, designed by Lamaroux Pagano Architects, consists of two sections. The first is a three-story structure with classrooms, science labs, art rooms, media rooms, administrative and faculty offices and workrooms.  The second is a one and two-story structure with the cafeteria and kitchen, gymnasium and locker rooms, auditorium, music classrooms and the mechanical and maintenance facilities.

Mountview Middle School has also achieved CHPS certification under the Massachusetts Collaborative for High Performance Schools program – a sustainable green construction program authorized by the Massachusetts School Building Authority. The program places emphasis on reducing energy and water consumption.
