CTA Construction Managers completes fourth of ten phases at Putnam Gardens

Cambridge, MA CTA Construction Managers has completed the fourth of ten phases of the Rental Assistance Demonstration revitalization project of Putnam Gardens.

Located in the Riverside neighborhood of the city, Putnam Gardens is an affordable housing community that features 122 units in three buildings. It is owned by the Cambridge Housing Authority. To date, CTA has completed about 29% of the project.

“We’re pleased to partner with the Cambridge Housing Authority on this important project to update and transform Putnam Gardens,” said Paul DuRoss, a project executive at CTA. “The work we are doing will dramatically enhance the interior livings spaces and improve amenities for local individuals and families who reside at this community.” 

CTA Construction is partnering with Boston-based Bargmann Hendrie + Archetype, Inc. (bh+a), the architects on the project. The Rental Assistance Demonstration work at Putnam Gardens includes phased renovations of apartments, including new appliances and cabinets in kitchens, new finishes and fixtures in bathrooms, additional upgrades to wheelchair accessible units, new washing machines, repainting of units, exterior repairs to masonry, and upgrades to the boiler plant, fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

Over the next two years, CTA will continue its work renovating the remaining six phases of the Putnam Gardens renovation. The full project is scheduled to be complete in 2018.
