For those looking for some recreation in the great outdoors, wooded trails and biking paths with spectacular water views, lush green grass perfect for a picnic, fun playgrounds with all the amenities, and modern sports fields can be found easily throughout Warwick. But what does one do when the weather isn’t cooperating? Three new businesses setting up shop in the city will be offering great options for those dreary (or dreadfully hot) days!

The Centerline Pickleball Club will celebrate its grand opening at 33 Lambert Lind Hwy. on March 15. This brand-new facility, adjacent to the popular Bo’s Bar and Billiards, will offer more than 22,000 s/f of modern, state-of-the art Pickleball courts and amenities. Players of all levels and abilities can enjoy, play, and improve their game on one of the facility’s eight padded courts. Amenities include an all-purpose room to celebrate any occasion, equipment rentals, locker/restrooms, a snack/beer and wine bar, and a catered party menu for private events. Memberships are available, but the facility is open to members and non-members alike. Located behind the Warwick Mall, Centerline is accessible by I-95, I-295, and Rtes. 37 and 2, making it a convenient place for both locals and out-of-town guests to get their game on.

Minutes away, X-Golf Warwick is in final buildout stages at 1350 Bald Hill Rd., also known as Warwick Center, a 160,000 s/f shopping center with tenants that also include DSW, The Paper Store, Barnes & Noble, and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. X-Golf, a national franchise, first opened in the U.S. in 2015, and now boasts over 120 locations throughout the country. Those looking to learn the sport or to improve their game will find support from PGA-trained experts and the X-Golf Simulators and V1 Pro Golf technologies. In addition to lessons, X-Golf offers tournaments, leagues, space for special events, and a full sports bar. The company says its indoor golf simulators offer patrons unmatched realism and accuracy, thanks to their special combination of gaming software, camera systems, impact sensors, and infrared lasers.

Cowesett Commons, at 300 Quaker Ln., will be the new home of the first Rhode Island Urban Air location. The indoor adventure and trampoline park joins other relatively new tenants, including Floor & Décor, Ocean State Job Lot, and the Honey Baked Ham Company, as well as long-established businesses like Stop & Shop and Applebee’s Restaurant. Kids and the young-at-heart alike will enjoy a variety of attractions, including tube slides, MyFly, flash pads, the twist tower, an indoor slide park, indoor sports court, a variety of slide options, mini-golf, go-karts, indoor skydiving, and much more. There will also be a café as well as opportunities for special events like birthday parties and field trips. A spring opening is planned.
