Diversified Project Management completes relocation assignment for $55m expansion

Diversified Project Management (DPM) has completed furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) coordination and relocation management services at Housatonic Community College (HCC). HCC officials and state leaders, including Conn. governor Jodi Rell, State Department of Public Works (DPW) commissioner Raeanne Curtis, and HCC president Anita Gliniecki hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the $55 million additions and renovations at HCC campus. The event took place in the former Sears Building - now named Beacon Hall. DPM was hired to manage furniture coordination and relocations for this expansion, which included the conversion of an existing Performing Arts Center into a teaching theater, the renovation of 146,000 s/f in the adjacent Beacon Hall and new construction of 21,081 s/f of additional space. "We congratulate HCC officials, faculty and students of the College on the completion of this exciting project," said Bob Keeley, president of DPM. "We're very pleased to have completed this extensive project in time for HCC to open their doors to students for the start of the fall semester. DPM managed the relocation and the coordination of FF&E to the new space, totaling 174,500 s/f, which included the theater, an events center, classrooms computer, foreign language and ESL labs. Beacon Hall now houses a central lobby, bookstore, satellite cafeteria, and large conference and lecture rooms. A feature of the new space is the provision of adequate informal student gathering and lounge areas.
