Diversified Project Management, Inc. (DPM) has been retained by Bryant University to manage the ground-up construction of new student housing as well as the renovation and expansion of their stadium field house on their 420 acre campus.
Bryantis expanding their on-campus housing by adding a new, five story, freshman dorm and two new "senior" townhouses. The townhouses are currently under construction and the new dorm is slated to begin in May. Combined, the new buildings will house over 350 students.
In addition to housing expansion, the university also plans to renovate and expand their current stadium field house as a result of their athletic program's ascension into Division One of the NCAA.
"These new facilities will have a great impact on the campus community, offering modern housing and sporting amenities to the student body", said Edward Milch, director of capital projects for Bryant University. "DPM has been an integral part of our team thus far and we are confident that with our combined efforts, we will successfully complete these projects on time and within budget."
"We are truly excited to be part of the sustained growth and development at Bryant University," said Bob Keeley, president of DPM. "As a proud alum, I feel fortunate to be able to be part of the university's success and vision for the future."
The onset of DPM's involvement with the project included the approval process with the local jurisdictional authorities. Hearings were held before the planning board to discuss the master, preliminary & final plans. A hearing with the zoning board was also held to secure special use permits and variances.
Diversified has also worked with Bryant to conduct a Class I survey of their entire campus, performed a hydrologic model of the water distribution system, as well as a flow assessment of sewage pumping stations and outflows from campus to ensure the expansion was supported by infrastructure.
