October 18, 2012 - Connecticut
According to Diversified Project Management (DPM), one of New England's premier owners representative / construction project management firms providing programming, construction administration, FF&E coordination and move-planning services, they have been retained by Connecticut Innovations (CI) to represent the lender during the construction of the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine on the campus of the University of Connecticut Health Center.
DPM was hired by CI to monitor the construction and FF&E procurement process and to review all applications for advancements under the $145 million facility loan and the $46.7 million FF&E loan. Funding for the project was authorized and provided by the State of Connecticut through the newly formed Connecticut Bioscience Collaboration Fund. The Fund will be administrated by CI and will be used to develop, construct and equip a research laboratory and office building at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington. The facility will be a 173,000 s/f laboratory, concentrating on advancing genomics research, genome-based medicine, DNA, stem cell, bioscience medical research and other medical research disciplines. Planning for the project began in early 2012 and construction is expected to commence in January of 2013. Occupancy is targeted for the fall of 2014.

A licensed architect, Geralyn has 25 years of experience in architectural project management and construction administration, primarily in the corporate, healthcare and higher education industries.
