Eastern Building Services hosts first annual green cleaning seminar/brunch

Eastern Building Services, provider of janitorial and facility services throughout greater New England, host the first annual Environmental Impacts of Cleaning Networking Brunch at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. "The industry is becoming more aware of the benefits environmental cleaning provides" said Michael Gauthier, business development manager of Eastern Building Services. "We hosted this event to educate, familiarize and discuss this emerging practice that affects us all." Robert Guillemin of the Mass. EPA and Kevin McNulty of 3M Commercial Care both provided detailed information regarding safe work practices, proper chemical usage, health hazards and how to green clean. Other topics covered ranged from LEED certification and economical benefits to energy, recycling and water savings. Governmental facilities nationwide and states such as Illinois and New York have already established and mandated the green cleaning process. Industry experts feel that this practice will rapidly follow in other states and will eventually be required. Eastern Building Services is a privately held company founded in 1968 and currently services over twelve million square feet of commercial, financial and industrial space. Eastern employs over 450 full and part time workers including management. For more information on EBS GREEN please see www.ebsgreen.com and contact information below.
