Are you a young professional looking for networking opportunities with other young people working in the environmental industry? Are you new to the industry and want to learn how to jump start your career? Do you work with young professionals and want to help them build professional relationships with potential clients, industry leaders and new colleagues?
The mission of the EBC Young Environmental Professionals Committee (YEP) YEPs is to identify issues of concern to young (and new) environmental professionals and create a forum to discuss them and to network with others in the industry. Issues include, but are not limited to, career and professional skills development, understanding existing and developing legislation and regulations, and networking.
The YEPs organize a variety of informational and networking events, seminars and Enviro 101's. The Enviro101 series is designed to provide an overview of the areas that are most significant to the EBC community. It is also an opportunity for young professionals to gain speaking experience by presenting to their peers in a supportive forum, and like all our events, is an excellent opportunity for networking and building new business relationships. Previous topics include Renewable Energy, Wastewater, and Becoming a LEED.
You do not have to be an EBC member to get involved with the YEPs. We encourage you to join our listserv and come to an event or planning meeting. Our upcoming events include:
June 30: EBC/YEP First Annual Softball Game
September 8: Joint Young Professionals Boston Harbor Cruise
You can find more information on the EBC website, www.ebcne.org. As we plan our fall calendar we are looking for potential speakers for many of our programs, including: "Moving from Analyst, Scientist, and Engineer to a Project Manager" or an Enviro 101 on any topic.
Please contact the EBC to join the email listserv and get involved in the YEPs. If you are not a young professional but work with one, encourage them to get involved in the committee. You can request to be added to the listserv by emailing ebc@ebcne.org
