EMCOR Services New England Mechanical named Specialty Contractor of the Year by The Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Connecticut (CT ABC) named EMCOR Services New England Mechanical (NEMSI) Specialty Contractor of the Year for 2014 at its annual awards dinner held January 29. CT ABC also presented NEMSI with an Excellence in Construction Award for its project at the Kent School's Music & Mattison Auditorium, and additionally recognized NEMSI for its 20 years of committed and active membership. One of New England's leading mechanical services contractors, NEMSI is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a Fortune 500 leader in mechanical and electrical construction, industrial and energy infrastructure, and building services for a diverse range of businesses. The CT ABC is a membership association representing merit shop contractors. Its Specialty Contractor of the Year Award was based on NEMSI's participation in the organization's events, committees and meetings; its overall belief in the merit shop philosophy; and a commitment to its employees' continuing education training. NEMSI's receipt of CT ABC's Excellence in Construction Award was presented for its work on the Kent School's Music & Mattison Auditorium project where NEMSI was a subcontractor providing full mechanical services for the renovation of music classrooms and practice rooms, and an assembly auditorium. The project created state-of-the-art spaces for the facilities, converting the auditorium into a theater performance space and creating a new cutting-edge recording studio for the music program. "We're extremely honored to be named Specialty Contractor of the Year, and for CT ABC to additionally recognize our work at the Kent School's Music & Mattison Auditorium, as well as our 20 year active membership in CT ABC," said Dana Finnegan, president and CEO, EMCOR. "As steward for the Connecticut construction industry, we're proud to be an engaged member and active participant in many of CT ABC's advocacy and educational activities." Founded in 1966, EMCOR is one of the region's leading mechanical services providers serving clients in such markets as biotechnology research, pharmaceutical, commercial, industrial, institutional, health care, and higher education. The firm's expertise includes mechanical and electrical services, building automation, and maintenance as well as energy systems integration. Headquartered in Vernon, CT with branch offices in New London, and Trumbull CT; Palmer, MA; Pawtucket, RI; Albany, NY, and Manchester, NH, NEMSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a Fortune 500 company with estimated 2014 revenues of $6.4 billion.
