Environments at Work launches Integrated Interiors at Work - a new division led by Atwood

Environments at Work, one of New England's premier Haworth office furniture dealer, has launched a new division, Integrated Interiors at Work, to provide architectural interiors products including moveable walls, raised flooring, and modular power; as well as design-build construction services for mission critical or data center environments. Offering in-house contracting services, this new division provides clients with a single source for the procurement and installation of architectural interiors products. Industry veteran David Atwood, who has a long history of collaboration with Environments at Work and its clients, will lead the new division. "This new division responds to a need in the marketplace for a complete, integrated solution for modular architectural products," said Ken Patrick, chief executive officer of Environments at Work. "Integrated Interiors at Work will be the region's only source for the procurement and installation of these products through a single manufacturer - Haworth. I have highly valued working with David in the past, and am thrilled to have him join our team to lead this new division. David's extensive experience working with these products, and his ability to meet the unique needs of each client, are tremendous assets." Integrated Interiors at Work's modular solutions combined with Haworth's Organic Workspace products provide flexible, high performance workspace that adapts to companies' changing needs while meeting the growing demand for sustainable and LEED-supportive design. Modular walls can be easily reconfigured and relocated without creating the waste that results from demolishing and rebuilding permanent walls. With a range of styles, materials, and finishes that complement the design of any space, moveable walls provide the look, feel and acoustical performance of conventional construction. Raised floor systems provide a convenient environment for underfloor air, voice, data, and power that can easily adapt to changing technological and space requirements, while offering improved air quality and productivity. "There is a significant and growing demand for the sustainable and adaptable benefits provided by moveable walls and raised flooring," said Atwood, general manager of Integrated Interiors at Work. Integrated Interiors at Work will also provide full-service construction services for data center projects. Based on experience that includes design/build and construction management of specialized environments including data centers, computer rooms, and cleanrooms (class 1-100,000), the division will work with clients to define ways to do business more effectively and efficiently by increasing the availability of the critical systems upon which their business depends. Formerly the Principal of ADS Inc., an architectural interiors and construction services firm located in Canton, Mass., Atwood has more than 20 years of experience in construction management, sales, and marketing. He has managed regional and national interior construction design-build projects and fit-outs including: mission critical data centers, cleanrooms, industrial production space, commercial kitchens, retail, and offices incorporating modular architectural products. Atwood's belief in the benefits of green building has led his drive to increase the wide-scale adoption of sustainable construction practices throughout the A/E/C industry. Integrated Interiors at Work will initially focus on serving clients in Eastern Mass. and Maine, where Environments at Work has existing offices.
