Boston, MA Nixon Peabody LLP has expanded its real estate practice with the arrival of accomplished real estate finance attorney Kristen Fallon, who advises lenders in the sophisticated real estate investment trust (REIT) and fund finance space. She joins the firm as partner, based in the Boston office.

Fallon represents financial institutions, REITs, and funds in commercial unsecured and secured credit facilities where the underlying collateral is real estate. Many of her transactions involve working with financial institutions on unsecured facilities due to the fact that the sponsor has reached a certain investment-grade status. These transactions relate to the financing of real estate projects, portfolio lending, construction lending, loan participations, loan workouts, and restructurings throughout the country. In addition, Fallon has significant experience representing financial institutions in data center and healthcare transactions.

“Kristen’s energy and her ability to skillfully navigate sophisticated financing transactions set her apart,” said Christopher Froeb, leader of Nixon Peabody’s affordable housing & real estate practice. “In addition, our clients across the board are seeking insight on how to proceed in this difficult credit market – and Kristen has extensive experience on all sides of real estate finance. We are thrilled to add her to our team.”

Fallon also represents REITs, developers, and funds in the acquisition and financing of real estate-related projects, as well as mergers and acquisitions, joint venture pursuits, and other general corporate matters.

“In addition to her strong finance background, Kristen is energetic and motivated to expand our firm’s client relationships,” said James Vallee, managing partner of Nixon Peabody’s Boston office. “Her skills and experience dovetail nicely with several other practice areas at our firm, and we are excited to introduce Kristen to our clients.”

Fallon earned her JD from Boston University School of Law, cum laude, where she was selected as an Edward F. Hennessy Scholar and served as a member of the American Journal of Law and Medicine. Fallon received her BA from Boston College, cum laude.
