Finegold Alexander + Associates celebrates opening of 364,000 s/f Methuen High

The Methuen Public Schools, the architects at Finegold Alexander + Associates Inc and Consigli Construction Co., Inc., (Consigli) are excited to announce the opening of the newly renovated Methuen High School. The completed 364,000 s/f project was constructed in two phases and occupied by 1,400 students during the entire two-year project. "The existing 1975 school was well-built, but the previous open-classroom design did not provide an optimal learning environment," said Methuen Public Schools superintendent Judith Scannel. "The new design expands the school, improves the user experience, introduces energy and water-efficiency, increases daylight, and provides expanded teaching tools including a new wing for art and music, along with a 750-seat auditorium with stage that exposes students interested in theatre technology to professional-level equipment. We thank the entire design and construction team for completing a very challenging project." "Working with the entire team at Methuen has been a pleasure, and we are thrilled to see this project through to fruition," said Regan Shields Ives, AIA LEED AP, senior associate at Finegold Alexander, who served as project architect. "Consigli is proud to have been part of this transformative project, and to deliver a fully updated and expanded modern high school for the city of Methuen—within their original timeline," said James Hervol, project executive for Consigli.
