Flaherty of Colliers Meredith & Grew elected CBA pres.

Executive vice president Joseph Flaherty of Colliers Meredith & Grew has been elected president of the Commercial Brokers Association (CBA) for 2009. The CBA is a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. The CBA is an association of 390 commercial real estate brokers who practice in eastern Mass. CBA members are a part of the Greater Boston Real Estate board. Additionally, the CBA is committed to giving back to the community with its continued support of its designated charity, Caritas Communities. In total, CBA has donated $110,000 over the past four years and more has provided work crews made up of CBA members to help fix up specific Caritas properties. With 650 rooms, Caritas is greater Boston's largest non-profit, non-sectarian owner of single room occupancy houses, providing affordable housing in Boston and ten suburban communities. "I am pleased to be able to serve my fellow commercial brokers and look forward to working with the new CBA Board in 2009 and to continuing the fine work and exciting initiatives of my predecessor Mark Stevens, CBA's outgoing President" said Flaherty.
