The city of Worcester in conjunction with Daniel J. Flynn & Co. of Quincy will auction off 11 parcels of land in tax-title possession on Wednesday, March 11th. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6 p.m. The Auction will be conducted ballroom-style, at the Esther Howland Chamber located on the third floor of City Hall located at 455 Main St.
Flynn & Company expects to ride the momentum from their recent success in Springfield. On February 10th, Flynn successfully auctioned 29 properties. Flynn has auctioned over $2.6 million in properties for The city of Springfield since January 2008.
"Strong bidder turnouts are always the key to our success. We know how to bring the crowds," said Dan Flynn, "People can get some great deals, have fun and the city always benefits with new owners paying taxes and taking care of the properties."
The March 11th auction for the city of Worcester will consist almost entirely of land parcels.
"With 11 properties, there will be a decent selection for folks to examine. Bidders are very likely to pick these up at bargain prices." Flynn said. He added, "A city auction tends to draw more interest than a standard foreclosure auction because there are no banks involved and no hidden liens. The city owns these properties outright so what you bid is what you pay plus the 10% buyers premium"
The 10% buyers premium covers the auction fee so the cost is added to each high bid which represents the final sale price. Auction participation requires bidders to come prepared with a $2,500 certified bank check deposit.
Interested parties should check the city website or www.flynnauctions.com for specific terms and property information.
