At a time when family owned construction businesses are fewer and fewer, Walsh Brothers a 107 year old construction firm has been under continuous family control over that time.  The firm's impact on the Boston skyline has been significant over the last century.  As a family operated firm, the core values of trust and partnership while providing an exemplary level of quality in construction have been the foundation of the firm's success. In the continuation of the family tradition, Richard Walsh the fourth generation of the family has taken over the daily operation of the firm assuming the position of president and chief executive officer. James Walsh III, the third generation of the family has transitioned to chairman of the board.  Richard holds more than 28 years of experience with the company having begun his career as an on-site superintendent in the early 1980s.  Over the years Richard has held positions of increasing responsibility most recently having performed the role of principal on many key assignments to ensure that client expectations are exceeded. The firm's history and bulk of business has been built on forming multi-decade relationships with institutions including:  Boston University, Boston College, Emmanuel College, the Boston Red Sox, Partners Healthcare, the Massachusetts General Hospital, Gillette, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.   Over the decades the firm has received many awards for its work including awards from the Boston Society of Architects, Build New England Awards along with the Build America Award for the construction of the Fenway Park State Street Pavilion and EMC Club completed in 2006.  In 2007, Walsh Bros. was inducted into the first annual hall of fame by the Massachusetts Building Congress.
