Peabody, MA Since relocating the business from the Hendrickson family home in 1984, Christian Book Distributors (CBD)  has made its home at 140 Summit St. Since 1996, CBD has located operations on its current site, with numerous changes and additions along the way to accommodate continued growth and expansion into new product markets.

In 2015, CBD needed to expand their warehouse and distribution capabilities and engaged Fraser Project Management to oversee their interests, allowing CBD to focus on and conduct their daily business during the construction process.

Working with architect Symmes Maini and McKee Associates, a 70,000 s/f addition was designed to connect to their existing 300,000 s/f headquarters. Dacon Corp. was awarded the project, due to their experienced team, extensive experience in Centennial Park, and their experience with flat concrete slabs and prefabricated wall panels.

Technical challenges included minimizing disruption during the extensive site work, tie-in to existing facility, super-flat floors, and high bay storage. These challenges were met seamlessly, thanks to the project team’s experience and team spirit.

The project, completed in August, took six months to complete and came in under budget.
