G. Greene Construction completes Siemens 3T MRI at Boston Children’s Hospital

Boston, MA G. Greene Construction completed the installation of a Siemens 3T MRI at Boston Children’s Hospital. The installation was completed while the abutting departments remained operational. To lift this 12-ton MRI into the Mandell Building, it was hoisted onto a support structure that spanned across Binney St., that was closed off to traffic. Safety measures were taken to allow pedestrians to walk to their destinations out of harm’s way while the MRI was being hoisted. 

The project team included: Kevin Krauss, Sr. vice president of healthcare; Eileen Flanagan, project manager; and Jim Mitchell, project superintendent.
