Galant of Tighe & Bond named recipient of George Warren Fuller Award from American Water Works Association

Westfield, MA The Connecticut section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) recognized Peter Galant as a recipient of the prestigious George Warren Fuller Award at its annual conference in Newport, RI. Honored for his longstanding and exceptional service to the water supply field, he received his official award plaque at AWWA’s national conference in Philadelphia.

Galant, a vice president who joined Tighe & Bond in 2005 and is the firm’s technical director for its water business, has more than 30 years of experience in water system planning, engineering, and operations. Galant has led diverse public water supply projects including water resource planning and asset management, master planning, and water quality and treatment improvements, as well as infrastructure design and construction. He also has tackled one of the industry’s toughest new challenges - drought management.

A leader in the Connecticut water industry, Galant is a past president of the Connecticut Water Works Association (CWWA), where he continues to provide guidance on key water industry legislative and regulatory issues. He has worked closely with the Connecticut Department of Public Health, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority on numerous industry issues, including the current Connecticut State Water Plan.

A licensed engineer in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, Galant holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering & Science from Stanford University. He also has both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University.

The American Water Works Association annually presents George Warren Fuller Awards to selected members for their notable service to the water supply field. This is in commemoration of the distinguished life of George Warren Fuller, a sanitary engineer well known for his exceptional leadership and dedication to water purification.
