GEI Consultants, Inc. hires 5 employees Heynen, Coffin, Iger, Johnson and Barry

GEI Consultants, Inc. has added four senior practice leaders and a marketing manager.

We are excited by the potential each new leader brings to the firm and by the increasing level of collaboration across all of our disciplines."
Peter Heynen, P.E. has joined GEI as a senior geotechnical leader in the Atlantic region, located in the Glastonbury, Conn. office. He is a seasoned geotechnical engineer with over 35 years of engineering and management experience. Heynen has broad knowledge and experience in all aspects of applied geotechnical engineering. He is also well versed in the environmental and construction fields and complements GEI's target markets by providing a full array of subsurface services. An active member of the professional community, Heynen is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers, CT (ASCE-CT), the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Deep Foundations Institute, the American Council of Engineering Companies, and several others. He is a licensed professional engineer in Conn., Fl., N.H., N.J., Penn., R.I. and Va. and holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from New England College. Graduate studies in geotechnical engineering were completed at the University of Conn.
Todd Coffin, C.G., P.G. has joined the firm as a senior practice leader and branch manager for the Portland, Me. office. As a senior practice leader responsible for the excellence of his team, Coffin will establish and maintain the client relationships within the group as well as all technical activities. He has extensive experience in environmental permitting, litigation support, contingency plan development, implementing environmental management systems, conducting audits of regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene and pollution prevention practices. He holds a bachelor's degree in geology from Colby College and a master's degree from Purdue University. He is also a licensed professional geologist in the state of N.H. and a certified geologist in the state of Maine. He brings with him over 23 years of environmental consulting experience.
Rick Iger serves as an executive engineer located in GEI's Bakersfield, Calif. office. He brings extensive experience in all aspects of municipal water resources focusing primarily on planning and evaluating long-term water supply projects; negotiating agreements with project participants and entities; developing and maintaining flood control projects; managing irrigation projects; and reporting on and managing the business side of water resources and conveyance utilities. Active in the California water community, Iger is a member of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), the Association of Groundwater Agencies and several others. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics from the California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and has published numerous reports and management plans for the Kern County Water Agency. He comes to GEI after thirty-five years with the Kern County Water Agency.
David Johnson, P.G. has joined the Ontario, Calif. office as a principal hydrologist. With over 22 years of experience in the fields of water resources, environmental and engineering consulting, his career has involved the progressive program management of environmental/remedial investigations, site investigations, construction management, hydrogeology, municipal water resources and transportation infrastructure. Management experience has involved staff and business development as well as technical project management and interaction with regulatory agencies. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Humboldt State University and his Master of Science degree in geology with an emphasis on hydrogeology and engineering geology from the California State University in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Geological Society of America and of ACEC California, formerly the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California (CELSOC). He is a registered professional geologist in the state of California.
Joseph Barry serves as the New England regional marketing manager and is located at GEI's corporate headquarters in Woburn, Mass. He has been a marketer within the engineering industry in Boston for over thirteen years. He will be accountable for a variety of strategic marketing tasks for the New England region, most notably for identifying and tracking opportunities within various market sectors; remaining active within the marketing and engineering communities; assisting in the overall corporate marketing efforts throughout the company and for the preparation of proposals, qualification statements and presentations. Joe has been an active member the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) and currently sits on the board of directors for the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). He holds a degree in marketing and business administration from Northeastern University.
