Gilbane Building celebrates groundbreaking
of 635,000 s/f Trident Logistics Center

Revere, MA Gilbane Building Company celebrated the groundbreaking of the first phase of the Trident Logistics Center. Link Logistics and Saracen Properties are leading the development of the class A, two-phase speculative project, which will deliver 635,000 s/f of high-bay warehouse space.

Located two miles from Logan International Airport and less than six miles from Conley Terminal, Trident Logistics Center will be Boston’s newest logistics hub upon completion in late 2025. The site offers unique opportunities for urban industrial use and is positioned for airport-related, port-focused, or last-mile logistics.

“Just three miles north of downtown Boston, the forthcoming Trident Logistics Center will provide optimally located space for a variety of urban industrial uses,” said Gilbane’s Justin MacEachern, vice president of Mass. and Northern New England. “With 20% of the state’s industrial workforce – over 146,000 people – located within ten miles of the project, the site offers unparalleled access to a local, skilled talent pool. We are thrilled to continue expanding our industrial and logistics portfolio within the Greater Boston area and supporting this growing industry.”

Gilbane’s scope of work throughout the first phase of the new development includes the ground-up construction of Building A, a 367,000 s/f warehouse facility offering 40 ft. ceilings, 60 loading docks, ESFR sprinkler heads, concrete slab on grade, and an envelope of tilt-up precast concrete panels with structural steel. The interior of the project will also include 4,000 s/f of office and amenity space. The 23-acre project site was originally an oil tank farm that was dismantled and remediated earlier this year to make way for new construction. The site will be surcharged with three to four feet of imported soil and wick drains that will result in 12”-24” of on-site settlement. The ground improvements are 4,400 rigid inclusions with a foundation of pile caps and spread footings. In alignment with Gilbane’s commitment to sustainability, the facility is also targeting LEED-v4 certification to further energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
