Goody Clancy to design Unitarian Universalist Assn.'s headquarters/office

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) selected Goody Clancy to provide interior design for the association's national headquarters at 24 Farnsworth St. in the Innovation District.
The UUA has outgrown its offices adjacent to the Mass. State House at 25 Beacon St. and 41 Mount Vernon St. The new office in a former factory building will provide a new work environment for the association, with all employees together under one roof. The new headquarters is expected to be complete in January of 2014.
"This is an exciting time for our Association and a significant first step in the design process. I am confident that Goody Clancy will help us realize our vision for a forward-looking and sustainable headquarters," said the Rev. Peter Morales, president of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
To achieve this vision, Goody Clancy will integrate environmental and social sustainability into every aspect of the headquarters plan. The design will promote employee health and wellness, and support home-based employees by providing shared "hotel" space for those working onsite when needed.
Jean Carroon, FAIA, principal of Goody Clancy said "Designing a new headquarters environment provides the opportunity to align the physical work space with the creative spirit of the UUA staff. The design will emphasize flexible spaces for collaboration, open floorplans and healthy, day lit surroundings designed to be warm and welcoming for employees and visitors."
