Kristen Gowin has been selected as assistant chapter manager of the Boston Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). She has been representing NECA's interests and advancing NECA's legislative and political objectives that effectively promote the Association and she will be a great asset for the Boston Chapter," said Glenn Kingsbury, NECA Boston Chapter executive manager
Specifically, Gowin has focused much of her time and expertise building and maintaining relationships to advance multiemployer pension reform, improvements to the Affordable Care Act and a renewed effort addressing comprehensive tax reform. She is also an expert in several key issues including misclassification of independent contractors, project labor agreements, and prevailing wages.
Gowin said, "I am eager and excited to work for the members of the NECA Boston Chapter as assistant manager. The Chapter is a leader in the industry and I look forward to helping further evolve its already prestigious reputation and promoting the finest electrical contractors in the Greater Boston area and Eastern New England."
Prior to joining NECA, Gowin worked at Mercury Public Affairs as a legislative assistant. During the 2008 election cycle, she moved to Washington, D.C. to launch her professional career at Public Opinion Strategies, a political polling firm, where she worked on dozens of winning campaigns from New Mexico, Florida and across the Northeast.
Gowin holds a BA in political science and public relations from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.
