Greater New Haven CID hosts first annual Commercial Real Estate Conference

North Haven, CT The Greater New Haven CID held it’s first annual Commercial Real Estate Conference on September 25th at the NHMR offices.

John Traynor, senior VP of People’s United Bank, gave the keynote address about the commercial real estate investment environment heading into 2016. Gary O’Connor and Jean Perry Phillips of Pullman & Comley, LLC, followed him with a presentation on the various opportunities that exist for Transit-Oriented Development within the state. Tim Sullivan, deputy commissioner of the DECD, sat in on the Q & A regarding TOD’s, then spoke on Brownfield redevelopment within Conn.

Attendees received 3 CE credits for Ed Smith’s course on “Green Commercial Buildings: Issues, Systems, and Savings” The conference was organized by Jed Backus of Backus Real Estate, LLC, chairman of the NHMR commercial and investment division, and made possible by a grant from the National Association of Realtors.
