Greater R.I. Chapter 88 earns high honors at Chapter Star program

Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Greater Rhode Island Chapter No. 88, one of 93 IREM chapters worldwide, received high honors in IREM's Chapter Star Recognition Program. The chapter, serving Rhode Island and parts of Massachusetts, was recognized for a variety of initiatives it undertook in 2011.
* Sponsoring Education full and half day Seminars and Brown Bag Workshops
* Supporting local charities
* Assisting Property Managers to seek designation as Accredited (ARM) and Certified Property (CPM) Managers
* Offering Scholarship Funds through the Greater Rhode Island Chapter IREM restricted fund for those seeking designation.
* Co-sponsoring Networking Event with NEAHMA
* Providing leadership training in support of chapter and industry-wide goals.
Commenting on the group's recognition as a Five Star chapter, 2011) president Richard Hitt, CPM, senior manager from Phoenix Property Management, said "It is the efforts of many members that earns us such a high honor. As a IREM chapter we look to promote a professional real estate management organization that supports quality management to owners. Providing educational opportunities that addresses trends and changes in the industry is what our members want. It is good to know that we are meeting their needs."
The Chapter Star Recognition Program recognizes IREM chapters for providing valuable member services and programs. The program awards points for specific activities based on criteria that define effective, successful chapters; some activities are required, others are elective. Then, based on total points earned, chapters can achieve One, Two, Three, Four, or Five Star Status.
