Brookline, MA The Hamilton Company has completed major renovations on the first floor (12,000 s/f) of a building at 156 Lawton St., that was occupied by Bay Cove Academy, a school of Justice Resource Institute. The therapeutic day school received its certificate of occupancy in September and reopened on October 13th.

“We are excited to complete the renovations for JRI,” said Jameson Brown, chairman and CEO of The Hamilton Company. “We are thrilled that the improvements made to their space will help them maintain an important presence in the Brookline community.”

Founded in 1973, Justice Resource Institute has since grown into a network that has more than 100 human services programs and 2,500 employees that provide trauma informed care for children, families and individuals. Bay Cove Academy, a school of JRI, provides a highly structured learning environment for adolescents whose educational and social needs exceed those that traditional private and public schools can accommodate.

Prior to the reopening, JRI temporarily relocated their operations in December 2025 while the landlord, The Hamilton Company, completed the improvements on the building.

“We are grateful to The Hamilton Company and everyone who helped create a renewed space where our students can feel safe, supported, and ready to learn,” said Lindsay Savageau, vice president of educational services at JRI. “Returning to Bay Cove Academy’s Brookline home is an exciting milestone for our entire school community, and this thoughtfully renovated environment will help our students build on their strengths and pursue their educational, social, and vocational goals.”

“We were honored to complete these important renovations for the JRI,” said Carol Rash, The Hamilton Company’s director of commercial property & asset management, “These improvements will provide stability and peace of mind as they continue to provide vital services to the marginalized residents of Brookline and beyond.”
