Help plan the 2011 student design competition

June 25, 2010 - Green Buildings
NESEA is currently seeking individuals to help plan and organize the BuildingEnergy 2011 Student Design Competition. Three teams competed in last year's inaugural event. Based on the high number of inquiries already received, we are expecting a much higher volume of participation this year.
We need help with three fundamental tasks:
1. Design problem development - What are the students going to do? What is the competition going to be about? How is it going to be judged?
2. Fundraising - Exercise your business and communication skills to raise prize money.
3. Student Recruitment / Outreach - Use your communication and marketing skills to reach out to students and professors about the competition.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 16th at 11:00 at Preferred Building Systems in Claremont, NH. We will be building touring the facility and holding a meeting to further refine this year's design problem which will be addressing the nation's deteriorating mobile home stock utilizing pre-fabricated structures.
If you have an interest in sustainable design and want to inspire future generations of architects and designers in an effort to help build a more sustainable world or just want to be a part of this fun project, please contact Ryan Lacey at [email protected].
