Hoffmann awarded 2026 Silver Medal from University of Hartford

West Hartford, CT Hoffmann Architects + Engineers, a design firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, made known that founder and executive chairman John Hoffmann, FAIA was selected as the recipient of the 2026 Silver Medal from the University of Hartford’s Gamma Nu Chapter of the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society for Architecture and the Allied Arts, the highest honor awarded by the local organization to a practicing professional.

Hoffmann, FAIA was awarded the Tau Sigma Delta Medal from the University of Harford for “outstanding design work and years of service to the profession and the academy.” A national honor society for architecture and design students, Tau Sigma Delta admits members whose academic performance falls in the top 10% of the student body and who have demonstrated not only scholastic achievement, but also leadership and character. Members of each Tau Sigma Delta chapter select one professional in the field of architecture, landscape architecture, or the allied arts as the recipient of the Silver Medal, the chapter’s highest honor.

“After numerous nominations and careful consideration, it gives me great pleasure to announce that John Hoffmann, of Hoffmann Architects + Engineers, has been chosen as the University of Hartford Tau Sigma Delta chapter’s recipient of the 2026 Silver Medal,” wrote Dr. Theodore Randall Sawruk, Ed.D., NOMA, assoc. AIA, associate professor of architecture.

Tau Sigma Delta faculty advisor said, “We would like to take this opportunity to recognize John Hoffmann for his outstanding design work and years of service to the profession and the academy.”

Tau Sigma Delta members presented John Hoffmann with the medal at the Gamma Nu Chapter’s annual luncheon on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the University of Hartford 1877 Club.
