ICSC presents New England Alliance Program April 1st

The International Council of Shopping Centers will present New England Alliance Program featuring a panel discussion on New Retail Formulas for Success & the Role of the Economic Stimulus Package scheduled for April 1st at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boston City Hall. The ongoing downturn in the economy has led some to say we are "over-retailed." This forum will present the latest data on the retail industry in the Boston SMSA, and will identify geographic areas that offer opportunities for developers and retailers who are able to rethink traditional formulas to ensure that projects will survive the downturn and be profitable for the long term. The panel will discuss creative retail formulas, public/private partnerships, and the role of the federal stimulus for retail success in our current economy. Moderator will be Pamela McKinney, MAI, CRE, principal of Byrne McKinney & Associates, Inc. Panelists include Douglas Greenholtz, vice president, IKEA; Monica Lamboy, executive director, OSPCD, City of Somerville; and Todd Finard, partner, Finard Properties, LLC. Luncheon keynote speaker will be John Riordan, ICSC past president and lifetime trustee. The Alliance Program is a special ICSC initiative which provides forums for the public and private sectors to network, share ideas, discuss industry issues and explore retail development opportunities. Positive relationship building is paramount for successful development. ICSC Alliance meetings are both time and cost effective opportunities for public officials, developers, retailers, and other industry leaders to grow their relationships and learn from one another.
