ICSC will present Reconnect Pavilion at the 2009 RECon
The International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. will present Reconnect Pavilion-Recruiting, Retraining & Resources, at its 2009 RECon, the retail real estate conference, taking place on May 17th-20th in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Reconnect Pavilion is designed for attendees looking to start their own business or simply looking to advance their professional know-how and offers specialized training sessions, mentoring, educational sessions, and professional development classes lead by industry professionals and professional career coaches. The pavilion will also feature networking, continuing education information, mentoring, job coaching and more.
Additionally, the pavilion will contain a university row, where university representatives from undergraduate and graduate programs in real estate, business and retailing will be available to discuss their continuing education and degree programs.
"We are proud to reinvest in our industry by offering sound advice from industry experts," said Michael Kercheval, president and chief executive officer for ICSC. "ICSC is dedicated to helping its members during these difficult times and the pavilion is part of our continuing effort to not only make RECon more affordable for our members this year but more relevant as well," Kercheval added.
Founded in 1957, ICSC is the premier global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its more than 70,000 members in over 90 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials.
Beverly, MA Jay Goldberg, president and owner of Spire Investments has completed the purchase of four multifamily buildings. The 33-unit purchase amounted to a sale price of $9.2 million or $278,788 per unit. The properties are all located in downtown and consist of one- and two-bedroom units.
This may seem self-serving, and I’ll be the first to admit it. But unlike some of the artificial intelligence tools now reshaping our industry, I am fully aware of my own bias. So, hear me out. The rise of AI in commercial real estate is not a distant threat or a speculative headline.
Now what? As the year comes to a close, the state of retail is always in the news. The answers vary greatly depending on who in the various related industries you ask, each offering a unique lens on the challenges and opportunities ahead.
