IFMA Boston Wins Large Chapter of the Year - by Tom Palange

Tom Palange,
IFMA Boston

The 2018 World Workplace festivities took on additional significance as our chapter was awarded Large Chapter of the Year at IFMA’s Awards of Excellence luncheon.

IFMA International is made up of more than 160 chapters worldwide and IFMA Boston is the third largest globally. So earning Chapter of the Year is a validation of the hard work and passion demonstrated by all the members and volunteers who continue to shape the chapter, its activities and its overall direction.

As part of our submissions process for the award, we needed to quantify our achievements over the past year–and thanks to our 80 volunteers that work tirelessly on our behalf, they were many!

To quantify the impact IFMA Boston has on its members, we began tracking FM Engagement, a term we use to measure the effectiveness of programs, resources and membership benefits. Since we began capturing this data over a year ago, we’ve seen consistent monthly growth in FM engagement, and a year-over-year increase of more than 40%!

We believe that it our renewed focus on the facility manager that has helped us stand out from crowd, and our chapter leaders are extremely proud of this great honor!

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating our award-winning organization in the months to come at our forthcoming Giving Thanks, Giving Back Gala, Chapter of the Year Celebration or any of our monthly programs.

Tom Palange is the 2018-2020 president of IFMA Boston.
