EMCOR Group's subsidiary, J.C. Higgins, has been awarded a contract for the installation of the HVAC mechanical systems at the Sanofi-aventis Genomics Center.

J.C. Higgins will be responsible for the complete installation of the HVAC mechanical systems in the portion of a facility being renovated in which Sanofi-aventis is a tenant, 110,000 s/f, including the laboratory, research and office space. J.C. Higgins' scope of work involves installation of all HVAC mechanical systems, including hot and chilled water, steam and condensate, supply/exhaust/return air, lab/hood exhaust, steam humidification, and all refrigeration systems. Installations also include heating and chilled water back-up systems, due to the critical nature of the facility, as well as an energy recovery air-handling unit.

This project will attempt to achieve a LEED Certified rating; J.C. Higgins will play a significant role in supporting the Indoor Air Quality and Commissioning aspects of this certification.
"We are honored to be part of the team for the Sanofi-aventis Genomics Center that will be creating an environment and facility that will support critical research activities," said Ron Ledoux, president and CEO of J.C Higgins. "Having the expertise to help develop this state-of-the-art facility is something in which we take great pride."
