Jewett Automotive Design & Construction contracts with Team Kia to build 14,200 s/f facility

Jewett Automotive Design & Construction, a division of Jewett Construction Company, Inc., has contracted with Team Kia to build a new dealership at 94 Manchester St. The 14,200 s/f facility includes a pre-engineered metal building constructed by Jewett Metal Buildings & Steel Erectors to house new showroom support and service reception areas as well as new service bays. The scope of work includes concrete slab and foundations, masonry, carpentry; millwork, insulated metal panels, membrane roofing; architectural composite metal panels, EIFS, overhead doors, glass and aluminum storefronts and curtain wall systems, interior glass and glazing, gypsum drywall systems and light gauge framing systems; as well as Design-Build fire sprinkler, plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems. Finishes include porcelain and ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, carpet and resilient flooring, and painting. Jewett's project manager for the job is Steve Harris and project superintendent is Steve Sousa. Other recent automotive clients include Emerson Toyota, Rte. 44 Hyundai, AutoServ Nissan, Olsen Cadillac, and repeat customers the Melkonian Group, Commonwealth Motors, Tulley BMW and the Grappone Automotive Group.
