JM Coull awarded two Boston University projects

Boston, MA  JM Coull was selected for two projects at Boston University, marking the firm’s fifth and sixth projects for the university. Work involves renovation of 16 classrooms in the College of Arts and Sciences and Cummington Mall buildings, as well as renovations to a biomedical engineering laboratory.

Construction for the CAS/Cummington classrooms has already begun; construction for the lab is scheduled to start in August.

JMC previously completed the 5,000 s/f robotics lab in the Engineering Product Innovation Center at BU. That facility provides engineering students with a modern, high-tech space to design and develop their robotics projects, and includes a 1,000 s/f netted test arena. Similarly, the CAS/Cummington classrooms and biomedical engineering lab will create upgraded learning and research spaces with enhanced efficiencies. The projects reflect the firm’s increasing presence in Boston’s higher education construction market.

“These projects present a unique opportunity for JM Coull, as there will be some overlap in schedules between the two later this summer,” said project manager Evelyn Wendell. “The CAS and Cummington classrooms in particular will be an exciting challenge simply because the scope includes so many classrooms. They will be great facilities for BU’s students and faculty. We’re really pleased to be involved and continuing our relationship with the BU community.”
