JM Electrical named 9th safest electrical contractor in the nation

Boston, MA JM Electrical has been listed as the 9th safest electrical contractor in the nation, and has been awarded with the prestigious 2025 Recognition of Achievement in Safety Excellence from the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). This recognition highlights JM Electrical’s exceptional commitment to workplace safety and its proactive approach to preventing serious injuries and fatalities.

JM Electrical stands as the only Boston-based electrical contractor to receive this distinguished award this year, and one of just 85 companies nationwide with more than 150,000 man-hours to earn this recognition. The company earned this achievement by maintaining days away, restricted and transfer (DART), and lost workday case (LWDCR) rates below the national average, with zero fatalities – meeting NECA’s rigorous criteria for Safety Excellence Recognition.

NECA’s Recognition of Safety Achievement Program represents the association’s premier safety recognition, acknowledging member-contractors who excel across multiple areas of their safety and health programs. While many companies have reduced recordable incidents, addressing serious injuries and fatalities requires exceptional safety leadership and commitment, which JM Electrical has consistently demonstrated.

This award underscores JM Electrical’s position as an industry leader not only in specialized electrical contracting, but also in workplace safety standards. The company’s comprehensive safety program incorporates advanced training, regular safety audits, and continuous improvement processes which have proven effective across its diverse portfolio of complex projects.

“This recognition reflects our unwavering dedication to creating the safest possible working environment for our team members,” said Matthew Guarracino, principal and CEO of JM Electrical. “I am incredibly proud of our entire organization, and I want to especially recognize Kevin Kolhonen, our Health and Safety Manager, whose leadership and tireless efforts have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. Kevin’s expertise and commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence have truly elevated our safety protocols to an elite level.”

JM Electrical’s achievement reinforces its mission of excellence across all aspects of its services. Through its core values of safety, quality, relationships, our people, accountability, and communication, JM Electrical continues to set the standard in the electrical contracting industry while ensuring the well-being of its most valued asset – its people.
