Woburn, MA Pellion Technologies is moving from Cambridge into a 15,500 s/f space at Cummings Properties’ 10 Gill St. The next-generation battery company has a projected move-in date of April 1.

Cummings Properties account manager Robb LaBossiere worked with Jeremy Hood of T3 Advisors on the transaction.

“Pellion is coming from a smaller space, with an inefficient layout in Cambridge that wasn’t working for them,” said Hood. “Cummings offered the firm a customized space, conducive to its way of working, with the quick turnaround it was looking for.”

Pellion, founded by a team of MIT researchers, is developing a battery with twice the energy of today’s Lithium-ion batteries. The company is working with an elite group of partners as early-adopter customers. It recently announced Motorola Solutions as an investor.

Pellion Technologies is one of many energy-focused technology firms that lease with Cummings Properties, including Gridco Systems, The Boston Solar Company, Integrated Systems International, ElectroChem, and Vionx Energy.

“We are delighted to welcome Pellion Technologies to Gill St.,” said LaBossiere. “It is exciting to work with a company that is driving the next generation of mobile devices. We wish them great success.”

Pellion’s new headquarters is equal parts meeting area, open office, and light manufacturing/development space.

Pellion is poised for fast growth, according to CEO David Eaglesham, who said the company needed a space where it can meet with commercial clients, further develop its products, and grow its team. “Cummings Properties’ reputation for being a responsive landlord that maintains its properties well brought Pellion to Woburn. Gill Street’s flex space is a perfect fit for us,” said Eaglesham. “Cummings’ affordable square foot cost gives us the space we need now with the ability to grow in the future.”
