To Whom It May Concern:

The City of Cambridge has a rich history as a vital part of our Commonwealth's social fabric, serving as a cultural, business, and educational hub. As Massachusetts Attorney General, and having served for 8 years as Middlesex District Attorney, I know firsthand how innovative and diverse the neighborhood-based residential and economic communities of Cambridge.

Cambridge is home to unique residential neighborhoods, cutting-edge businesses, and some of the world's finest educational institutions. It is a city where history is well-preserved and honored, while at the same time the business and educational communities are on the forefront of new innovations and technologies that will enhance our society for years to come.

I am continuously impressed by the efforts of residents, business owners and public officials, including public safety officials, to make the Central Square neighborhood a great place to live, work, and do business. Other neighborhoods have followed suit, forming associations of local business representatives who work collaboratively with local and state officials to ensure that Cambridge is an attractive community for homeowners and businesses alike.

I look forward to watching Cambridge continue to prosper while respecting its history in the years to come.
