Leurini joins Marcus Partners as principal, CFO and chief compliance officer

Boston, MA According to Marcus Partners, Gwen Leurini has joined the firm as principal, chief financial officer & chief compliance officer. She will also serve on the firm’s management committee and chair the compliance & risk committee. 

“Gwen brings a broad range of experience to our firm, gained across the commercial real estate and investment fields,” said Patrick Sousa, COO & head of capital at Marcus Partners. “Her work will enhance our ability to deliver on our commitments to drive strong investor value and create a strong organizational culture.” 

Leurini joins Marcus Partners after 17 years with AEW Capital Management, where she most recently served as senior vice president / head of fund operations. In this role, she was responsible for financial management and investor reporting for $1.7 billion in combined assets. 

Previously, she served as the Controller for AEW’s value-add series of closed-end funds and served as Assistant Controller on their opportunistic fund. Gwen is a Certified Public Accountant and began her career at PwC. 

A graduate of New Mexico State University, Leurini now resides in the Boston area with her husband, Jim and Labrador retriever, Jake. She is an active volunteer for NEADS, a local non-profit organization specializing in training service dogs to support individuals with physical disabilities, veterans, children with autism, and those requiring therapeutic assistance.
