Boston, MA The D.L. Saunders Real Estate Corp. has welcomed M. Steinert & Sons’ Boston showroom to The Park Plaza Building at 20 Park Plaza.

Lisa Saunders, senior vice president and director of leasing for D.L. Saunders said, “Steinway & Sons’ craftsmanship has been defining the piano, its sound, elegance and music for more than 100 years. We at the D.L. Saunders companies are delighted that M. Steinert & Sons will be joining our family of top-drawer retail tenants and our buzzing Back Bay urban neighborhood.”

Founded in 1860, M. Steinert & Sons is the oldest music store in the United States. The company is the exclusive regional dealer for world-renowned Steinway & Sons pianos.

Donald Saunders is the owner and founder of the D.L. Saunders Real Estate and Hotel Group. The D.L. Saunders family has played a vital role in changing the face of Boston for four generations. Saunders’s daughter, Lisa Saunders, serves as a senior vice president of the company. Like her father and grandfather before her, Lisa Saunders plays an active role in the planning and development of Boston’s Back Bay community. The Saunders’s commitment to the City of Boston is part of the family’s heritage: the family came to the city’s calling when they purchased and improved significant Back Bay properties, including what is now the Park Plaza Hotel and office building. They made that courageous purchase in the late 1970s during a period of economic uncertainty and urban decline in America. Similarly, their efforts with their Newbury St.-area properties have helped to make that shopping district what it is today. The D.L. Saunders real estate companies are also known for having acquired and preserved the Armory of the First Corps of Cadets, also known as “The Castle,” which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
